There is a way to know if a man is - "Player 1".
Someone who is born and meant to be a king of sorts among other men. And most men who say they are, or have to sell themselves to you as such - never truly are.
Actually, the signs have been hinted at by a variety of texts and manuscripts - when they describe the truly virtuous male, one who has increased agency in the world compared to others. A true needle-mover.
Firstly, and most importantly, it is someone who is a warrior, who is capable in body and mind. Someone who exudes strength, justice and devotion. A man worthy of a following. He is someone with physical presence and stature.
Secondly, it is someone who is gentle in spirit and temperament. It is a man who will never reduce his brother below himself - because he has no need to do so. It is a man who rises to each occasion with the utmost valour, as if the troubles of the world are beneath him, and as if they would rather submit to his will as he is possessed by the relentless masculine fervour to mould any situation to serve only his highest ideals.
It is a man who is uncompromising in their mission and vision, and it is also someone who is a poet and an artist. If a man cannot bring himself to sing, or to dance, or to interface with the beauty of the creative act - then his soul is rather incomplete. He is not the "main character".
This is coming from someone who's terrified of dancing, by the way. Two left legs.
It is a man who keeps and appreciates the company of other men, and someone who serves as an example of boldness and bravery for the feeble-minded. It is a man who treats the opposite gender with the utmost caution and delicate care - and heeds their advice.
The greatest protagonists, if you study them well, and the archetypal stories that are attached to them - always have to cross uncomfortable boundaries. They are rather hesitant to step into the role of the unlikely leader - yet they are called to it regardless - and they are called to their destined greatness whenever they choose to accept this call.
When you look at a man as "worthy" of being followed, listened to, et cetera - ask yourself, do they encompass all of the abovementioned? Or are they a cheap recreation of [[the Archetypal King]]?
You will find yourself mostly disappointed, of course. But that is for the most greatest of reasons.
Never close your eyes to a man's shortcomings and weaknesses, especially when you consider following them on their path.
They must represent and encompass the full list of traits. Not half, not a quarter - but the impressive whole.
