Every lie you tell yourself now - you will have to retell yourself that lie when the consequences of your illusions stop to matter. But it will be too late then, because truth will have lost its meaning, and it will be beyond pursuit. It will have become a cold and distant thing that can no longer be addressed, repaired or healed. Most of the things you do on a day-to-day basis, whatever you engage in, they're probably beneath your highest potential - and it's not alright to act like this isn't so. Don't let any fake spiritual guru tell you otherwise. Time is not what's passing - energy is, opportunity is - the opportunity to seize moments and change the fate of this temporary world for the better. You must dance the dance of life while you still can, and you must dance it well. A lie is a comfortable thing, that's why we like to revel in it, because we are, most of us - born weak. You're not losing time, you're losing the ability to make amends. Not to anyone else, mind you, but to your own potential. I'm not asking you to seize stars from the night sky and conquer your greatest fears in a day, just that you avoid acting outside of your highest capacity, to the best of your ability - and as much as possible. Lying to oneself makes a person uglier. Much more uglier than you think - it literally makes you detract and repulse good things from your life. While you think you've fooled the world by having gaslit yourself into a comfortable state of mediocrity, you've only succeeded in lying to yourself, and you will reap the disadvantages of doing so when they can no longer be redeemed. For someone who struggles with grammar, for example, it's easy to convince themselves of the notion that "people who care about grammar are never actually successful, they're nit-picky and lame." But the truth is that they're running away from bettering themselves in an area where they themselves clearly see a deficit. And to convince themselves of this untruth - they then proceed to force this opinion unto others as well, in whatever desperate way they can. What's the end of this lie? A society that is unable to write or talk with full sentences. An externally manifested representation of the unhealed burdens of the one who is unable to admit his faults even to his own self. ![[IMG_3453.jpeg]]
