Many layers but primarily it is because money and the attraction of wealth as energy is tied to an inner sense of worthiness and deservedness.
The pursuit of honest living, purity and cleanliness diminishes this sense as these abovementioned sentiments begin to matter for you.
You are not making any less money than before, in truth, you are just withholding your own riches yourself on a spiritual level, delaying their arrival into your life because you do not feel you've become worthy of them yet.
This is a sign of true spiritual and moral progress.
Remember, money is frozen energy.
When you live dishonestly and make dirty money, you're not actually making any more money than you would have made in your life's journey anyway - you're just selfishly borrowing it from the future.
It's a test.
And money is one of the biggest tests, alongside influence.
The irony is that those who are greedy about money and resources already energetically own all of that wealth, life just tests them to see whether they're willing to steal and take from others to get it.
So not only are you not gaining anything out of being greedy, but you also lose the game of life. You become spiritually empty as you keep borrowing from your future rewards, so you begin to feel empty, depressed, lonely and ultimately self-destructive.
All life is a test.
