It did brother, for the longest time. Will answer like this because it's a long post, hope you won't mind.
Back in my youth, and keep in mind - where I'm from is the second oldest Christian country on the planet, I had a lot of rebellion towards the church & institution - parts of it were infiltrated, taken over, corrupted by the KGB and anti-religious sentiment was at an all-time high.
Most undercover criminals would go into a life of monkhood to avoid consequences for crimes, etc. They were not good people.
My mind was made up that the Chruch was spoiled.
You weren't allowed to go to church, only in secrecy. They were burnt, razed, defaced, demolished by the communists (most of which were what we'd now refer to as jews).
Very much like the radical zionist jews of today, which are but a small exiled portion of the many tribes of biblical Israel, whose name they promptly now stole.
But I've also been exposed to a more secretive side of Christianity most people in the west are probably not exposed to. There's a far richer Christian mythos and inheritance here than in the west.
And when I spoke with the black monks here (who live in exile in remote mountainous areas), the picture was different.
The twin mystical orders of Black George & White George take root here too (and other secretive orders I will not name). This is why mystics like Gurdjieff made their travels here in the Caucasus, for their knowledge.
When I became aware of their existence, and of the more mystical roots of Christianity and its teachings, that's when I realised there's a layer beneath the rest of the layers.
The jews of the bible refer to all of the tribes, as far as I know, all the peoples and nations of the world. The jews of today have very little (if any) connection with the jews (the peoples) of the biblical times.
The whole of the Indo-European peoples, from the times of Noah, are descended from these peoples mentioned in the bible, including Caucasians and Europeans. Japheth, Shem, Ham. All the peoples.
I don't think you need to worship Jesus to get to God. Yeshua, Christ and God - as all divine things emanate a three-fold light, they are a trinity within a trinity. They are separate emanations of one sacred whole. I think that's the meaning behind "get to God through me".
Yeshua is the physical (practical) incarnation, Christ is the resurrected, and God is the highest whole. Three aspects - one whole.
Why I go ballistic when people berate Jesus (especially those who claim to hold "knowledge") is because they don't understand the symbolic and functional meaning of his story, even on a basic level.
They think they've read all these manuscripts and so on but they have not even made the elementary conclusions and derived symbolic meaning from the materials.
I always go in hard on those who crucify themselves by admonishing Jesus. There is some blackness that lives in their hearts when they do it, and I can see it on them always. Even on their faces.
They haven't really taken the time to interface with his spirit. If they had, they would have understood the basic meaning of his sacrifice and story - which is to provide truth of the immortal nature of our souls.
Not proof but truth, because that's the meaning of all parables, at least in high Christianity, to allow the other to make up their own mind and choice on whether they wish to believe or not. Every great teaching is a story within a story.
It's either that, or they're serving another, more gruesome agenda.
These are LIARS, and I will always call them out as LIARS. Not because I have anything against them, but because that's what they factually are. They pretend to know but, in truth, they know very little.
A spiritual man who cannot see the symbolic meaning behind the resurrection of Christ *within* Jesus and the undeniable beauty of its meaning and implications, but instead chooses to see filth, deception and darkness - that is no spiritual man.
He has no real sight for truth, just bits and pieces of formulaic sister-forms of ritualistic magic that brings nothing but suffering to this world, and even to them themselves. Even their sources for these are not their own but bought, traded and passed down for no good reasons, for example, unlike yourself - who is well read in these matters.
There's very few hills I'd die on, but this is one of them.
A highly sensitive and conscious mind KNOWS before it even knows. He knows by sense and intuition and an inner clarity. When something feels fishy or deceitful, he knows it's probably a half-truth (half-lie), but when something is pure - he knows that it's pure by default.
But what else is a fake messiah than someone who claims to know God and Divinity but knows nothing in truth.
We caricaturise fake preachers and dress them in ridiculous robe-and-attire but the real fake preachers are the ones who are right here with us, on this very media platform, who lead others astray on a daily basis, thinking they're saving the world with their god complexes and infantile insecurities.
The depth of Christianity goes far beyond turning the other cheek and giving your power away to some higher power.
It is rather a gentle acceptance of one's fate and greater destiny as the tools of his enlightenment, not through servitude and service but through surrender.
