The greatest martial artist I've known taught me the most important lesson of all that I always come back to - and the depth of that teaching is a gift that never stops giving. It is a "realization", something as trivial-sounding and silly as: "Never forget that the weapon you wield isn't yours." Arms have no loyalty, your own blade can kill you just as well as anothers. You might make one, carry one for years, wield it to perfection - but it will always remain a cold and neutral tool and its destiny will always be to change hands. Same for social media, look at that - those who oppose you have 500,000 followers and incredible reach and you have... nothing. But use a poison long enough, and your victim develops an immunity of sorts. You forget, that the moment you pierce with the accuracy of truth into that same monster - you may turn half a million hearts in an instant. Any weapon can and will be used to destroy its wielder - as soon as its bearer forgets its simple truth. This inevitable process is what we're seeing unfold in our current reality right now.
