When I started to walk the path of Resourcefulness & Subtlety - my life immediately changed for the better.
This meant not taking any jobs that risked physical injury, never taking excess responsibility, never partaking in things that might get me in trouble with the law...
I always advise following this simple way of living to my fellows.
The modern world is rigged so that it often tricks people into taking high-responsibility jobs for very little added financial benefit, such as police work, teaching, caretaking, etc.
These are energy-traps.
An energy-trap is anything that has you inputting more energy than its guaranteed output (your salary) - with the added stress of having to upkeep an incredible standard of work on a day-to-day basis.
Instead, I mused, I could flow with the coming and going of things smarter...
This sort of mindset, combined with a facereading acumen, will always have you experiencing the best of life - in the lightest way possible.
When I go to the supermarket, for example, I will look at each clerk - and I will always approach the one with the friendliest face.
Get good enough at this - and you will exclusively find yourself being served by the best of people, working with the brightest minds, and doing business with the most loyal people.
The message here is to not settle for chance. Make choices...
Of course, some life-lessons (essential for growth) cannot be avoided - and should not.
But once you realize that most of your suffering and hardship comes from the use (or mis-use) of your own free will - not from life itself - you will start to see the issue with settling.
When you switch from defaulting to the first thing available - and consciously seek out the interactions you want to be experiencing - you will find most of the hardship in your life melting away like last winter's snow.
Remember, we give power to what we engage with.
Be free.
