Certain people give strong noses a bad name nowadays, but in more neutral settings, you'll observe that male youth will often make fun of their friends with stronger noses as they start developing one - disproportionately.
Deep down, they know that the feature is a sign of a natural leader - someone who commands authority effortlessly.
So this is evolutionary competition at its finest - insecurity warrants an attack on the source of that insecurity.
Especially if the nose is thin and sharp as well as having a larger, more defined bridge - and when it's not thick or fleshy.
Also important that the nose isn't hooked downwards. The hook has to be accompanied by a neutral columella (the vertical bridge on the bottom of the nose), otherwise the feature starts to imply something else.
Paradoxically, it is exactly this external hostility that usually builds the necessary character and temperament for leadership within these individuals.
They naturally need humbling as they tend to be incredibly confident from the get-go, with very little experience to show for it - and the price to pay can be a more difficult childhood at times.
Nature truly has evolutionary wisdom, it knows how to bring itself into balance in abstract ways that most of us would never consider.
Another interesting distinction we can make is that when supported with a strong facial trait like a thinner but protruding jaw (less bone mass but strong protrusion, triangular influence) - this implies direct leadership - this isn't your master tactician or military strategist type but rather a very Caesar-like, hands-on type of temperament.
When the chin is more tucked in, circular, with a stronger overbite - this implies spiritual and authoritative leadership, an idealist or visionary rather than someone who enjoys becoming physically involved.
