The occult arts are incredible in the sense that they are prized by "realisations" over dull knowing. Paradoxically, it is exactly the prerequisite of hard knowledge that can unlock these "realisations" in the first place.
It's not that you gain knowledge on something you previously didn't know about, but that you rather gain a sudden grasp of it; an added layer of understanding that you did not think possible in the past.
And you think this changes the thing itself, right? Be it a quote, or movie, or a book you might have read when you were little - when, in truth, this is not the case at all.
The change happens not in the object of your fascination. The object is the same as it ever was. The change occurs in the beholder - in you.
Higher knowledge, or knowledge of the occult, therefore, is a symptom of perspective. And the highest perspective is the perspective of the All. Everything - at once.
The man who can impose different truths upon the canvas of a thing is a man who can view it from different angles. And angles provide, with certain persistence - a variety of perspectives.
Look at yourself from the perspective of a friend, or that of a passerby, and then from the perspective of a lover - or from the perspective of all-encompassing creation itself.
To each - you mean a different thing. For each, there is a different truth of who and what you are.
But who are you really? Do you even know that?
No, you don't.
Yet you still are something, aren't you? You live, and breathe, and walk around, and talk with your parents every once in a while about your worldly problems.
You *must* be something, at the very least. Or some One, we should say. Someone with very little understanding of the makeup of their own spirit and mind.
What does that make you then?
Perhaps you are, currently, the "not-knowing" of your true self.
A thing that is in a constant state of unbecoming everything that it thought it was - who, thanks to that same "not knowing", is becoming something greater in the process.
Each time you unlock a new truth about yourself - you change. The very fact of knowing who you are, in that very instant, changes who you are. But how do you change into something you don't know yourself to be?
...If you are not already everything you can become.
The key to all that knowledge that is hidden from you - is you. All it takes is a shift in perspective.
