Initiation into dark circles happens through first becoming an imposter within a true faith, or in any institution serving humanity's enlightenment. This is called the ritual of inversion. To climb high in the circles of light and to then willingly and deliberately fall into darkness by committing vile acts in its name - symbolically akin to the original fallen angel. One cannot become a servant to the devil without first accomplishing the defilement of the innocence of their own souls. And now you know why dark acts often are, and were, done in the name of the faithful. Consider this the matured view of the complexities of religious tradition and of its mystical roots.
