Higher forces cannot be summoned - they may only be invited. By making space for a higher being to become the guardian of your ventures, you must create an environment where it can nest and find shelter. This is why the presence of such beings is called a blessing, for it is something that has to be imparted unto a person or an order of people. This can only be achieved with clarity of mind and purity of intention - an environment that is sympathetic to care, gentleness, innocence, fairness and grace. It is important to distinguish the differences between a blessed place or pact and occult orders, and/or "secret" societies. There are secret societies and then there are sacred societies. One cannot claim to be both. Always become curious about the function of a society's secrecy. Why is the secrecy necessary? Because secrecy means division by ranking. And division by ranking, in and of itself - implies some sort of chronological order among its members. Chronological order implies access to information and non-access to information within its ranks. And such a dynamic always implies division by influence. Secrecy is always only required for one reason - to hide what the society's true long-term goals are, reserved only for the members of its highest echelons. Why? Because they're already invested in the cult so greatly, so indebted to the system, so embedded within it in terms of culture and lifestyle - that their loyalties are easily guaranteed. For example, think of all the most popular secret societies (cults, in truth) you know of - their very design and modus operandi hints at an uncomfortable, dark truth. That truth is that all the way up to their highest ranks - there is deception. Not a test, mind you, but deception. Until one has gone too far in to go back without loss. A secret society can exist, on its surface layer, as a force for neutrality or even good - but blind obedience and faith in its leaders (not in a Higher Power) means that one's actions and energy and finances and even attention can be exploited for the attainment of shadowy goals. In short, what I am telling you is that the only reason for a society to become a secret society is to hide from you the true intentions of its masters, whom or what they serve at their top-most levels, and funnel you into blind servitude and obedience. You must understand, as a seeker of truth, that this is a limiting, fear-based system and mechanism. These societies that gatekeep knowing (not knowledge), thus, will always fail and crumble in the face of higher truth. Because they do not hold any higher truth. They cannot possibly hold it. They have made themselves unable to. All they can hold is deception, half-truths at best, designed to create spiritual awe and shock value - only to confuse the curious few even further. Through their own makeup - they fashion themselves unable to receive blessings from any higher power. A higher society or order of men, in truth, is only ruled by the collective intentions of its members. There is no ranking or order of leadership formalized or put on paper, there are no contracts (absolutely no contracts), no binding rituals and no rites of passage. The only rite of passage is one's ability to hold beauty and grace within their inner vision - and the boldness and bravery to act upon it, their ability to humble themselves and heed the voice of their own conscience, the whispers of the lesser god within them - and behave accordingly. Your body is the first temple you build. Your home is the second. And what order you belong to, which forces you serve to empower, what space you create through your actions - is the third. Look at life's examples as they are many - if you take the time to build a beautiful birdhouse - an equally beautiful creature will come to inhabit it. Your intention and the creation sprung from that intention will have imprinted it with sympathy.
