The fact that we cannot prove the existence of God is the proof of the existence of God. Faith exists only in places devoid of God’s presence. The function of the physical realm is to facilitate the existence of faith; to exist both divinely affected by God, but also devoid of God. Only in such a realm can faith, as a lesson, occur.
