The four directions of fate. Fate is just a pathway to finding the self. It is a "give and take" system. To find oneself, you must follow your ambitions - but your intuition will always tell you when you are stepping beyond your boundaries. You must pull yourself towards your desires (this is where your healing lies) - but your conscience will always pull you back when you're doing so at the expense of others. Ambition and Desire are proactive energetic currents, while Conscience and Intuition are reactive energetic currents. One is activated through action and the other through reaction. Your journey, the crossing, or the spiritual crossroads of life is the balancing act or divine dance between these four forces in order to achieve and interface with the true (higher) self. Conscience - when you are overstepping. Intuition - when you lack understanding. Ambition - when you are called to act. Desire - when you are called to create. Some humans use only one half. Most use neither. A very few make use of all. In the grand scheme of creation itself, morality is flexible - it is individually crafted, allowed, disallowed - according to your purpose and level of advancement. Society will learn this, eventually. Creation speaks to you through these 4 modalities. Men are called to balance ambitiousness with conscience. Women are called to balance desire with intuition. Most humans fail this test over, and over, and over again.
