From our previous lessons, we already understand this much: the transmutation of consciousness and thought - along with the symbolic manipulation of the imaginative faculty - is the true source of all inner magic and all outer magical phenomena.
Today, we speak of portals. Of the path of the centipede. Or, as we name it within our inner circle: the art of vortexic realignment.
We have spoken before of something from nothing.
And while that phrase gestures toward a larger truth, it fails to do justice to the depth of what it actually implies. For something from nothing does not occur within the framework of a magician’s trick. A trick is merely a reenactment - a dramatization of an effect already concluded. The true effect itself cannot possibly have witnesses. There is no audience to observe real magic as it occurs, because - learn this carefully:
True magic does not cause a visible shift. True magic exists as if it has always existed.
This is the real outcome of portal-making and the generation of magical phenomena. Magic is quantum in nature, stripped of theatrics.
So what, then, is a suitable physical analogy?
Perhaps the classic image: the magician pulling a rabbit from a hat.
But first, a crucial correction must be made. In real magic, it is not the rabbit that comes out of the hat. No one is present to observe where it came from at all. The prevailing sensation is simply that the rabbit has always been there.
Confused?
Good.
Let us continue.
As humans, bound by time and narrative, we rely on archetypal stories to make sense of reality. We impose limits on what we can perceive and how perception itself must behave. We assume that for something to emerge from nothing, there must be a visible transition - a shift in matter, a moment of becoming.
But true magic does not announce itself this way.
Through kaleidoscopic pathways, magic becomes suddenly and irrevocably woven into the fabric of being itself. The world adjusts without protest. Everyone behaves - almost unconsciously - as though this new reality has always been the case.
Why?
Because they cannot perceive the mechanism that made it so. They can only perceive the result.
Thus, the true operation of magic is invisible to those who can grasp outcomes but not processes.
For the initiator—the architect of the phenomenon—the mechanism is not only visible but intimately known.
Real magic is not something astonishing happening. It is something never appearing to happen at all—yet the spell is complete.
Magic works by inducing amnesia. This is its purest form. And the greatest spells - those of the highest order - render even the magician uncertain of their success.
The most powerful workings leave their creator wondering whether anything was done at all.
In this way, the spell is always greater than the magician. No human mind can maintain the clarity or stability required to fully interface with the energies a spell invokes. At best, the magician aligns with those energies temporarily, attaching themselves to a current far larger than their own identity.
So yes - something from nothing.
Entire realities printed into existence, not with a thunderclap, but with such seamless effortlessness that everyone becomes convinced your creation has belonged to reality since time immemorial.
When we study magical pathways and the way of the portal, the seeker must understand why magic appears unobservable to the average mind: because it is the average mind that insists on a division between what is magical and what is not.
The magician understands something else.
For a magical reality to be born, a ritualistic or performative element must accompany it. A dance. A play. A gesture heavy with symbolic weight.
Here we introduce the principle of sympathy.
Every object carries an inherent charge - not magnetism in the physical sense, but an abstract, metaphysical pull arising from its form. Geometry itself is expressive. Certain forms yearn for completion, and in that yearning they become sympathetic to forces that can fulfill them.
A half-moon longs for wholeness. It is sympathetic to the circle.
A vial or flask is sympathetic to liquid. Its very shape asks to be filled - and so it often is.
Invert the same vessel, and the sympathy reverses. It becomes aligned with emptiness. It remains hollow, embodying what emptiness embodies: a rattle when kicked across a hall, a fall onto its side, a revelation of its own void.
Humans function the same way.
Each human is a portal - but not a generic one. Every individual carries a unique map of archetypal energies. Each is sympathetic to something: an idea, a concept, another person, a complex thought.
And whatever a human becomes sympathetic to, they can bring into being.
To understand the fundamentals of magic as I teach it - the interweaving of visualization, conscious rearrangement, and portal-opening - you must train yourself to see sympathy everywhere.
Leaves are sympathetic to the wind. Together they create a soundscape. That soundscape is sympathetic to hearing. Hearing, in turn, is sympathetic to insight and meditation.
When one's entire being becomes aligned with a specific modality of reality, the magician may then act in the material plane to assist in its outward manifestation.
Once that form - first conceived as a thoughtform - takes shape in physical reality, it is immediately planted into the consensus field. It enters collective awareness. From that moment on, it becomes undeniable, no matter how absurd it may appear in retrospect.
Your state of being itself becomes an invitation.
So it is never the rabbit that is seen emerging from the hat of the illusionist. It is the universe itself that quietly rearranges itself so that the rabbit belongs
The hat represents vortex energy - a quantum aperture through which reality is birthed. The rabbit, innocent as ever, is the initiator that passes through, like Alice slipping down the hole.
But unlike the illusionist’s trick, the rabbit is never truly pulled out.
It is simply there.
And everyone accepts it.
Why?
Because if it is happening now, then it must have happened somehow.
So - where did the rabbit come from?
The rabbit was always there.
When we speak of the opening of portals, we are speaking of the ingress of outside energies into consensus reality - energies of which consensus reality has no conscious awareness yet.
The crafting of portals is a delicate art. As we have already established, the highest form of magic cannot be observed. It can only be invited. And one day, without warning, you will awaken beneath its influence - within its effects, its benefits, or its consequences.
This is why the magician’s cane or wand mirrors the human spine. The spine is where the vitality and power of the working are gathered, and from there they are elevated to the apex - to the visionary mind’s eye of the magician. The wand is an outward continuation of the spell itself, a symbolic extension of inner alignment made visible. It emphasizes the primacy of mental state and inner vision as the true instruments of change.
We are enamored with the image of the modern magician - one who commands fire and frost from their fingertips. Yet this form of overt manipulation, impressive as it appears, is a comparatively weak mode of magic.
Why ignite something, if it can be made to no longer exist? Why impose force upon a reality, when one can simply step sideways into another?
If the magician is capable of becoming the aperture through which a different possibility enters the world, then brute alteration of the existing world is unnecessary - and, frankly, inelegant.
Understand this, seeker: symbol and allegory are not ornamental. They are foundational. Without them, the deeper mechanics of magic remain inaccessible.
There are two primary laws you must hold above all others.
First: all magic and all miracle are born through the imaginative function. Imagination is not fantasy - it is the directing intelligence. Through conscious imagery, intention is shaped, guided, and released into the world.
Second—and this is the law revealed today - the law of sympathy.
All things naturally incline toward other things. A garage is sympathetic to a car. Emptiness is sympathetic to fullness, and fullness to emptiness. Every form carries within it an inherent magnetic pull - not physical magnetism, but metaphysical alignment.
What you become sympathetic to, you will attract. What you become unsympathetic to, you will repel.
This law is governed by geometry itself. For all physical forms are echoes - symbols - of higher principles, many of which remain unconceived by the collective mind.
And you, above all others, must understand this: whatever you wish to bring forth into the world, you must first embody what is sympathetic to it.
This is not difficult to grasp once it has been contemplated deeply enough. Repetition grounds truth. It is through repetition that concepts take root and become real.
The alchemy of the mind, the transmutation of emotional states, the sustained envisioning of ideas we wish to live within - all of these converge into the most daring spell of all, and the only one ever truly required:
The ability to bring forth through sympathetic alignment.
When I wish to manifest a kinder world, a safer world, a more blissful world, I live as though I already inhabit it exclusively. In doing so, I become sympathetic to that reality. I become a living portal through which it may enter this world.
Through the auric field, it emerges effortlessly - as if it had always been here.
Yes, through inner conceptualization.
Yes, through disciplined imagination.
Yes, through symbolic embodiment in the material world.
Thus, the magical artifact is formed.
The temple is sympathetic to the wounded spirit. The shelter is sympathetic to the homeless. The birdhouse is sympathetic to birdsong.
To the onlooker, nothing appears to have changed. A new idea exists where none did before. A new place. A new reality. How it came into being will remain unknown to them.
The magician’s hand is rarely seen. We never witness the rabbit being drawn from the hat.
But the rabbit will be there.
And because it is there - because it exists - its existence will validate itself, even to the most relentless skeptic.
Reality itself collaborates to erase the magician.
The final effect generates its own origins.
They will invent explanations for it.
They will argue on its behalf.
They will police all doubt.
Because it is real.
Reality, you see, defends its own illusions.
It must ground everything into being and logic.
That is its primary directive and highest imperative.
Magic, therefore, is the art of convincing reality that it has always been a certain way - and then leaving before it remembers the one who made the suggestion.
