If I had no strong moral code, if I abandoned my values, I'd be richer than most. I'd have a massive, cult following. The temptations offered by a godless existence can be incredibly lucrative. But there's a principled difference between life giving you things and you taking things from others. And I have never allowed myself to stray to that degree. Some fools will rob and steal and grift and then pretend like life has blessed them. Or exploit those vulnerable or uninformed to get ahead. They'll use it as proof of them "doing it right", or against you in argument: "Look how much life has given me. If I have so much, and you have so little, then I must have earned it, I'm better than you!" These are sad clowns who don't understand what they've actually exchanged for this momentary illusion of a dignified and worthy existence. That is not your wealth. You're just borrowing it. And who, or what, you're borrowing from is as surely to collect as the sun is set to rise. You think you're rich but, in truth - you're knee-deep in debt. And the collector is coming.
