Depression is simply the sound of your sorrows dying.
But you have to let them die. Be there at the funeral, weep away the grievous past and, eventually, accept it.
You're not the one going into the coffin, though it might often feel like it.
You are merely the tender to the grave, the one who waits - to watch the flowers bloom from what was laid to rest.
