Those who don't read fantastical literature because "it's not real" don't understand two things fundamentally:
- What "real" means.
- Where the fictional comes from.
When you're seeing an inspired author - you are witnessing the highest level of spiritual channeling possible.
HP Lovecraft, among many others, is a great example of this - just peering into other worlds.
Once a certain threshold of mastery is achieved in wordcraft, peculiar gates begin to open to one's imagination.
They can commune with stranger worlds with surprising clarity and reinterpret them into manageable allegories and symbols.
At the highest level - there is little to no difference between an astute writer and a master magician.
When I say dyslexic writing and bad grammar are primary signs of possession.
