You can have 10,000 followers, 100,000 followers, 1,000,000 followers. But you can only have a 100 friends. That's the cap. It is, quite literally, the cognitive limit - when memory itself declines if faced with a number that overwhelms it with too many emotional ties and relationships to upkeep. What a waste it is, then, to keep connections with people who do not emotionally upgrade us or intellectually enhance us. In this, all men are made absolutely equal. The rest is energetic siphoning or transaction - not innately a bad thing either. But, in this, all share the commonality of loneliness - especially large leaders and famous influencers. The true and genuine becomes smaller and smaller with time. So no one really controls anything, no one "knows the masses", so to speak - because when it comes down to it, you'll only have a few faces worth recalling. And a few hearts willing to stand by you when times get tough.
