Head in the clouds? As long as your feet remain planted on the ground, in what is tangible and real. Unconventional takes? As long as you have emotional stability, communicate like a sane person. Lofty goals and ambitions? As long as you can define each step it takes to get there, understand the work required. Spiritual teaching? As long as you can embody the teaching, make it practical, relate it to the real world. Radically disagree with my views? As long as you can present your own in a logical, pragmatic, civil manner. ___ Otherwise, to me (and to the world, I assure you), you are simply an idiot. And absolutely no weight will be attached to what you have to say or prove - if you have not fulfilled these basic prerequisites. It might be harsh, yes, but it is also a truth that needs to be told and heard. There is a big difference between the idiot and the fool. The fool is wise in knowing that he does not know. The idiot is wise in thinking that he knows it all. ___ Fix your sanity, emotional self-control, grammar, vocabulary, presentation, communication, cadence, grace, diplomacy, interpersonal skills. Then we can talk and discuss and debate about anything. But you don't just get a seat at the table. That's not how the table works. The table has standards. Because the public has standards. The truth itself, as a universal concept, has standards of intellect. The most important truths are unfathomable without a certain degree of intellect. If you want to be taken seriously, behave like a serious person.
